About

The Gaithersburg Book Festival is a celebration of the written word and its power to enrich the human experience. Our mission is to foster an interest in reading, writing and literary conversation.

The Gaithersburg Book Festival (GBF) is a spectacular annual celebration of the written word, and already one of the nation’s top literary events. The event is free to attend, free to park and open to everyone.

Gaithersburg Book Festival Committee

Originally conceived and introduced by Gaithersburg Council Member Jud Ashman, with the support of the Mayor and City Council and the Cultural Arts Advisory Committee, the Gaithersburg Book Festival is the product of an enormous amount of volunteer time and effort by a stellar group of book lovers and passionate supporters of the arts.
