Comedy at the GBF

If you like to laugh (and who doesn’t?) we have two Dyn-O-Mite panels for you on Saturday!

– The Stand-Up Comedy Writers panel – 3:15pm – Gertrude Stein Pavilion: This is for those of you who love jokes and enjoy insight into the world of stand-up comedy. Sylvia Traymore Morrison is a master of impressions. John DeBellis came up on stages in NYC with the likes of Larry David and Richard Lewis, and went on to be a staff writer at Saturday Night Live. And we’ve just added Jimmie Walker, veteran stand-up comic and star of television’s “Good Times.”

– Immediately following, we’ll have the Humor on the Interwebs panel – 4:15pm – Gertrude Stein Pavilion. These authors excel at humor in the written form. Lauren Leto is the author of the hilariously snarky “Judging a Book by Its Lover,” which, among other things, offers a guide for how to fake like you’ve read some of the famous authors. Sarah Schmelling imagines how famous literary characters might’ve conducted themselves on Facebook in “Ophelia Joined the Group Maidens Who Don’t Float.” And Phil Edwards takes a swipe at science textbooks with his satirical “Fake Science 101.”
