A Funny Thing Happened While…

Last week we posted a funny story about an encounter in a Phoenix airport that involved the Gaithersburg Book Festival. We love stories like those. Another recently was shared with one of our Committee members. Pasted below with some information redacted.

“I only recently became aware of the festival from a librarian I met at the Public Library Association conference in Philadelphia last week. I live in Silver Spring, Maryland, and am the author of over 40 novels for readers of all ages. It seems I’ve totally missed your deadline for applying to speak and participate. (Sigh.) I’d love to be there but understand if you’ve already closed your list of presenters.”

We’re being talked about all over the country now! Phoenix! Philadelphia! What’s next? How about a story of someone hearing about the festival overseas? Maybe the Philippines, to keep with our “p” alliteration? Come on, share your stories if you got ’em.
