Caroline Leavitt: Recommended Reads of 2011
Caroline Leavitt is the author of nine novels, most recently “Pictures of You,” a New York Times bestseller, a Costco “Pennie’s Pick,” and a San Francisco Chronicle Editor’s Choice “Lit Pick. Her novels have been optioned for film, translated into multiple languages, and condensed in magazines.
Her recommended reads for 2011 include:
“State of Wonder” by Ann Patchett. Patchett throws you into a world that’s so strange and so marvelous, every page seems to breathe.
“The Sisters Brothers” by Patrick deWitt. This smart, tart-tongue tale of two killers for hire is full of soul and is laugh-out-loud funny.
“Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaccson. I had nightmares reading this book about Jobs, who was as terrifying as he was brilliant. A fascinating portrait of the genius as a complex man.
