Gaithersburg Book Festival Partners with Politics & Prose Bookstore
Nation’s Top Independent Bookstore to be Exclusive Bookseller at 2012 Festival
The Gaithersburg Book Festival (GBF), one of the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area’s premier literary events, today announced that it has joined forces with Politics & Prose Bookstore, one of the nation’s leading independent bookstores, for the 2012 Gaithersburg Book Festival. Politics & Prose has been named the exclusive bookseller for the third annual festival, which will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2012, on the grounds of City Hall in Olde Towne Gaithersburg, Md.
“We are proud and honored to be working with one of the most beloved booksellers in the country,” said Jud Ashman, City of Gaithersburg Council Member and Gaithersburg Book Festival chairman. “In just two years, the Gaithersburg Book Festival has garnered national attention by attracting award-winning authors to a day-long celebration of all things literary. Our partnership with Politics & Prose, which is revered by authors and book lovers alike, will serve to further elevate the festival’s reputation and make it a must-visit destination each May.”
Politics & Prose will operate the festival’s book sales tent, where attendees can purchase the works of featured authors. In addition, Politics & Prose is providing GBF organizers with author recruitment support as they prepare the featured author line-up for the 2012 festival. The Gaithersburg Book Festival and Politics & Prose also are exploring opportunities to host author events in Montgomery County in the future.
“We’re delighted to be joining forces with the Gaithersburg Book Festival,” said Bradley Graham, co-owner of Politics & Prose. “The Gaithersburg festival already has established itself as a wonderful annual event, and we’re looking forward very much to contributing our own expertise and services to it.”
