New, Free App Puts Gaithersburg Book Festival Information at Your Fingertips

Now Available for Download in Apple and Android App Stores

Gaithersburg, Md. – May 13, 2015 – With 10 pavilions featuring awarding-winning and best-selling authors, workshops for kids and adults, a singer/songwriter tent, and many other fun activities, it can be a challenge to make the most of your day at the sixth annual Gaithersburg Book Festival. But we’re making it easier with the launch of a free smartphone app that helps you navigate the Festival, ensuring that you hear your favorite author or get to that can’t-miss book signing on time.

Available from the Apple and Android app stores, the Festival app lets you explore the presentation schedule to find your favorite authors and learn about new ones, with easy access to author bios.  Use the map to plot your course, and find activities, exhibitors or food vendors by type and location. You can even use Festival frames and stickers for fun memories with the photo booth feature.

With the app you can also build a personal schedule, set reminders and share information with others.  It easily connects to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, and you can get the latest Festival updates in the palm of your hand.

The sixth annual Gaithersburg Book Festival takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the grounds of Gaithersburg City Hall.

About the Gaithersburg Book Festival

The Gaithersburg Book Festival is an annual all-day celebration of books, writers and literary excellence. Now in its sixth year, the Festival has become one of the premier literary events in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. The 2015 Festival takes place on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the grounds of Gaithersburg City Hall, in Olde Towne Gaithersburg, Md. Other activities include author appearances, discussions and book signings; writing workshops; a Children’s Village; onsite sales of new and used books; literary exhibitors and food, drink, ice cream and more.
