Who is helping give out half a million free books across America on April 23rd?
On April 23, 2014, members of the Gaithersburg Book Festival committee will join other volunteers in cities across America to give away half a million free books.
World Book Night (WBN) is an ambitious campaign to give away free paperbacks to light or non-readers. Volunteer book lovers, like members of our committee, will help promote reading by going into our community and handing out copies of books we love, often to those without means or access to a printed book.
Bestselling author Scott Turow said, “I can’t imagine any greater compliment to a book or an author than to know his work has been selected to welcome people to the pleasures of reading.”
Be on the lookout on April 23rd for a member of the Gaithersburg Book Festival in your community!
