Special Event: An Evening with Billy Collins

Update: Tonight’s event with Billy Collins is now SOLD OUT.

Event day notes: make sure to enter Asbury Methodist Village through the gate at Odendhal Avenue and Lost Knife Road. Seating is not assigned, so you should plan to arrive early. And don’t forget that books will be available for sale at the event. (They make great gifts, by the way!)

As part of our GBF 15th anniversary year, we have a very special event to announce!

Plan to join us on February 9th for an evening with the great Billy Collins.

Collins is a former two-time U.S. Poet Laureate. His poetry tends to combine wit and humor with poignant observations about life and art and people and nature. Billy Collins, says fellow poet Alice Fulton, “puts the ‘fun’ back in profundity.”

Note: This is a FREE event, but tickets are required. Tickets will be released Friday, February 9, at 10 a.m. ET via Eventbrite. You will be able to request tickets at the ticket link on the GBF website at that time. There is a limit of 2 tickets per email address.

Even those who aren’t big readers or consumers of poetry may know him from his many appearances on NPR – or from his TED Talks or his MasterClass. Here’s a clip of one of his terrific TED Talks:

An evening with Billy Collins is an evening of laughter and wordplay and brilliance that you won’t soon forget. The guy is a national treasure.

The program will take place 7 p.m. on Friday, February 9 at the Rosborough Theater at Asbury Methodist Village. This is a FREE event, but tickets are required. Tickets will be released Friday, February 9, at 10 a.m. ET via Eventbrite at this link. There is a limit of 2 tickets per email address.

Collins will be speaking about his latest book, “Musical Tables.”  Books will be available for sale at the event, thanks to our bookseller partner Politics and Prose, and the author will be happy to sign them for you. Musical Tables by Billy Collins
